Supporting long-term disaster recovery while building resilience.
About us
In 2019, Governor Roy Cooper established the North Carolina Office of Recovery and Resiliency (NCORR) in the aftermath of Hurricane Florence to streamline disaster recovery programs statewide and help communities rebuild smarter and stronger. The office, a division of the Department of Public Safety, administers nearly $1 billion in U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development disaster recovery and mitigation funds, as well as state disaster recovery funding. NCORR manages several programs that support long-term disaster recovery and resiliency including homeowner recovery, infrastructure, affordable housing, resiliency, strategic buyout, and local government grants and loans.

🎉👏 #NCORR was thrilled to celebrate the state's Voluntary Organizations Active in Disasters and our collaboration to help communities rebuild smarter and stronger following major disasters. #recoveryandresiliency
Today, WARM NC, along with several other Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD), were honored by Governor Roy Cooper at an appreciation reception. This event provided a wonderful opportunity to finally meet many of the individuals within the VOAD group and express our gratitude for their partnership and volunteer efforts. It was a chance to say a heartfelt THANK YOU for their dedication to assisting the state and its residents in times of disaster. On a personal note, it was fantastic to see several of my frequent phone contacts from Catholic Charities, Baptist on Mission, NC Office of State Budget & Management, and the North Carolina Office of Recovery and Resiliency (NCORR)to name a few. WARM NC CEO Andy Jones, MDiv and I were joined by two very supportive WARM board members, Alisha Richardson and Mandy Mattox. At the core, Volunteer Organizations are about restoring hope and making a difference when it’s needed most.
