Welcome New Member - Oak Ridge Civic Music Association!!! The Oak Ridge Symphony Orchestra was founded as a community orchestra in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. The founder and first conductor was Waldo Cohn, a Manhattan Project biochemist and an accomplished cellist who started hosting chamber music sessions in his home upon arriving in Oak Ridge in 1943. Today the organization has become the Oak Ridge Civic Music Association - Innovative & Inclusive Classical Music, led by Music Director & Conductor Régulo Stabilito. ORCMA is an organization dedicated to enriching lives throughout our community, supporting local musicians and composers, and providing free music education programming through the performance of diverse and inclusive orchestra, choral, and chamber music in its many forms. Their vision is to become a growing and inclusive association of people interested in promoting music education and people interested in the performance of a diverse and inclusive range of orchestra, choral, and chamber music. https://lnkd.in/eVpjbtea
