West Oakland native Otis Ward IV often wondered what went into creating the video games he and his brother played when they were kids. While he was in high school, his question was answered when he participated in the TechLink program, a collaborative effort of the Oakland Unified School District, the Ed Fund, and donors including Intel Corporation and Pixar Animation Studios. "TechLink reminds me of a compass that gives you a sense of direction and offers so many opportunities," he said. Through the program, he built a computer game which inspired him to explore a career in tech. Now the McClymonds High School graduate is a student at Stanford University majoring in Computer Science, and the sky is the limit!
