👏 Join us in celebrating Fredrick Bradley, an unsung hero at Orange County Parks and Recreation! Fredrick's motto is “I don’t work to change people’s opinions of me, I work to change children’s lives,” and he has done just that. Over the past 25 years, Fredrick has made an impact in his community, helping to grow the Tildenville After School Program and working with youth in the Junior Magic program. Thank you, Fredrick, for making Orange County a better place every day!

🔋🔥 When it comes to the garbage or recycling cart, remove lithium-ion batteries from the equation. These rechargeable batteries—the type found in smartphones, laptops, e-cigarettes, power tools, and more—can overheat and cause fires. When a fire breaks out on a garbage or recycling truck, the driver must quickly empty the vehicle's contents onto the roadway to reduce the chances of injury and damage. It's a hot mess! Help protect our waste collection workers and the environment by properly disposing of lithium-ion batteries. Find a convenient battery disposal location at Call2Recycle.org/locator. You can also bring them to an Orange County household hazardous waste facility. See details at www.ocfl.net/HHW.

🎨 Now on display: Son of the City—the Art of Paul Columbus. Paul is a self-taught inter-disciplinary artist who gets most of his inspiration in life itself. "I paint in-part to pay tribute to my father, with every creation I pay tribute to him, and carry on his legacy to 'Live with Love.'" The exhibit will be on display in the Orange County Administration Building in the Board of County Commissioners Chambers Gallery through September 19, 2024.
