🚨🌳Pest Alert! 🌳🚨 Invasive Shothole Borers have been detected in Northern California. Invasive shothole borers (ISHB) are beetles that tunnel into trees and introduce a fungal disease (Fusarium dieback) that can cause tree death. Well established in many areas of Southern California and the Central Coast, the beetle disease complex has killed thousands of trees. It continues to spread and recently was confirmed in San Jose, threatening the integrity of California’s urban and riparian forests. UCANR is hosting an ISHB Symposium Webinar on July 18th from 8:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. The webinar will cover the current distribution, impacts and risks, best practices in control and management, and practical examples of successful management approaches. 💻 ISHB Symposium Webinar 📅 Date: Thurs., July 18th 🕛 Time: 8:00 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. 👉 Agenda & Registration Information: https://lnkd.in/gAKzVZ-5 #urbanforestry #urbanforest #ishb #pest #trees
