Building a high data-rate brain computer interface (BCI) to provide technology solutions to unmet medical needs.
About us
CONNECTING THE HUMAN BRAIN What if we could restore or enhance function using the power of AI and advanced technology? Our direct data interface enables this connection. MISSION We are building a high data-rate brain computer interface (BCI) to provide technology solutions for people with neurological and brain-related conditions. Our first clinical application will help severely motor-impaired people communicate, enabling social connection and restoring independence. ABOUT Paradromics was founded in 2015 by a team of engineers and neuroscientists, received early support from both NIH and DARPA, and is currently backed by venture capital.

📣 Exciting news! Paradromics has been accepted into the U.S. FDA’s newest accelerator program (TAP) and we have received our second Breakthrough Device Designation! These programs offer an expedited review process for transformative medical devices (like #BCIs 🧠). Matthew Willsey, MD, PhD, a leading neurosurgeon at the University of Michigan Medical School stated, “I’m excited to see BCI technologies, such as the Connexus® device, entering the clinical phase. This is one step closer to restoring movement to people with paralysis, or speech to those who have lost this function.” In preparation for our clinical trials in 2025, we have also launched the Paradromics Community, where patients, caregivers, and allies can stay up-to-date about current and future applications of Paradromics’ core technology. The incredible research initiated by the BrainGate Team 20 years ago has launched an exciting field of brain computer interfaces that we are proud to be a part of. We look forward to the many clinical advancements that this research continues to foster.
20 years ago (June 22nd 2004, to be precise), an extraordinary 24-year-old, unable to move his hands due to cervical spinal cord injury, volunteered to have a tiny sensor placed into his brain so that he could control a computer cursor, his room lights, and a robot arm just by thinking about it. https://lnkd.in/ePde7BiF
