Patients demanded a better way, our founder demanded a better way, a better way to treat pelvic pain is why we’re here.

About us

Persistent pelvic pain impacts 15% of women and 10% of men throughout their lifetime. This disease process has been misdiagnosed, undertreated, ignored, and silenced. There is a better way to provide the quality of life that our patients deserve. The better way is here. We believe that the millions of women and men who suffer from pelvic pain should have access to care that provides relief. We don’t believe “a glass of wine will fix it” or that “it’s all in your head”. We will never abandon you – and from leadership to the front office to every pelvic pain specialist you meet, so much of our team has been in your shoes and believes the pelvic pain patient deserves better. This belief is what unifies us all at Pelvic Rehabilitation Medicine. Since 2017, PRM has provided an innovative solution to a health crisis that affects 15% of women and 10% of men. Persistent pelvic pain is often overlooked, untreated, and misguided. At PRM, our mission is to decrease the time patients are suffering from pelvic pain symptoms. We offer a proprietary, simple, office-based procedure to treat the symptoms of chronic pelvic pain. The PRM Protocol™ consists of a series of pelvic nerve and muscle treatments to directly target inflammation in the pelvis and nerve pain. Depending on the condition causing your pelvic pain, other modalities may be needed in addition to our treatment.

  • Our patients are why we do what we do. We love hearing from our patients about how PRM has impacted them and we especially love hearing from patients like Carla who have been through so much and we were able to change the way healthcare feels for them. We know that pelvic pain patients spend a lot of time looking for doctors who listen, and we are honored to be a part of their care team. Dr. Natarajan is kind, compassionate, and very knowledgeable in pelvic pain. She has provided excellent care for me and has helped me in one of the challenging times with pelvic pain. She thoroughly explains everything and takes plenty of time with you. My pain has gotten a lot better with her care. I never felt rushed and she listens to all my concerns. I highly recommend her! • July is #FibroidAwarenessMonth - and with up to 80% of women having them, they are absolutely something worth talking more about! 🟣 Fibroids are benign tumors comprised of the uterine muscle and connective tissue in the uterus. While 1 in 3 women have fibroids, only a small percentage will have symptoms. 🟣 Did you know that Uterine Fibroids are cited as the most common indication for hysterectomy, accounting for approximately one-third of all hysterectomies performed? 🤯⁣ 🟣 Fibroids are quite common and the symptoms are often dismissed as “normal period pain” or “it must be in your head”. At PRM, we take a multimodal approach to healing fibroids and their associated pain. Our founder and CMO, Dr. Ally (@doctor.allyson) developed our protocol aimed at treating the pelvic floor dysfunction that comes with fibroids and can cause the symptoms of fibroids; as fibroids often cause the pelvic floor muscles to go into a spastic and guarded state. ❗We want you to know: you have options that don't always require hormones, surgery, or even a hysterectomy. There are different ways to treat your pain. Give us a call or click the link in bio to learn more. 💜

  • Due to stigma and underreporting, the actual prevalence of Persistent Genital Arousal Disorder (PGAD) may be higher than reported. While PGAD is more commonly reported in females, it can also affect males, although less frequently. It is estimated to impact anywhere from 0.6% to 4.3% of the population, predominantly affecting females. However, the prevalence of PGAD in the male population remains unknown. Persistent Genital Arousal Disorder (PGAD) is a rare condition characterized by spontaneous and persistent genital arousal without sexual desire or stimulation. The symptoms are not diminished with orgasm. It can result in distress and greatly impact one’s quality of life. We asked Dr. Reutter, in our NYC office, to share about the symptoms and treatment - and how PRM addresses PGAD in males on. the blog: https://bit.ly/3VGCV7g

  • Endometriosis is a common cause of infertility in women, found in almost 50% of those experiencing fertility struggles - but we want to remind patients that having endo does not make it impossible to have a health pregnancy. @doctor.bagaria explains exactly how endo causes infertility, including the pain, stress, and anxiety that accompanies this condition. Read more from Dr. Madhu Bagaria on PRM blog: https://bit.ly/3TYaeCa 🎗️It can cause ovarian cysts, the chocolate cysts which you have heard which can affect the ovarian reserve and the egg quality. The chronic inflammation can also affect the sperm and the uterine lining, which can prevent the fertilized embryo to go and implant. It can also affect your immune system, which can lead to the rejection of the fertilized egg. 🎗️People with endometriosis can absolutely get pregnant on their own and can have a good pregnancy outcome.

  • Hypertonic pelvic pain can be a challenging condition, especially for those who are active and enjoy regular physical activity. Understanding which exercises contribute to hypertonic pelvic pain, as well as identifying safer alternatives, is crucial for managing symptoms and maintaining overall well-being. We asked Dr. Ahmed in our NYC office to talk to us about he relationship between exercise and hypertonic pelvic pain, strategies to manage pain during workouts, warning signs that indicate a more serious issue, and the importance of incorporating pelvic floor-focused exercises and lifestyle modifications. She says to watch out for warning signs: 🟣 Persistent pain despite modifications 🟣 Urinary, bowel, and sexual symptoms 🟣 Sensation of a pop or tear during exercise Focus on reducing tension in the pelvic floor and try these exercises: 🟣 Swimming: Provides a full-body workout without placing undue stress on the pelvic floor. 🟣 Yoga: Promotes relaxation and flexibility, which can help reduce pelvic muscle tension. 🟣 Pilates: Focuses on core strength and stability, often incorporating modifications that are gentle on the pelvic floor. For those who prefer weight lifting, it may be beneficial to limit the amount of weight used and pay close attention to proper posture and technique. Depending on the underlying cause of pelvic pain experienced while exercising, different treatments are available. Treatment through the PRM Protocol™, which directly targets inflamed nerves and spastic muscles within the pelvic floor.
