**NEWS ALERT** Biden-Harris Administration Announces New School Meal Standards to Strengthen Child Nutrition. Nutrition standards for school meals will be gradually updated to include less sugar and greater flexibility with menu planning between Fall 2025 and Fall 2027. Some of the key updates are focused on added sugars, flavored milk, reducing sodium, whole grains, making it easier for food operators to accommodate food preferences such as vegetarian meals, and supporting local food purchases.
