About us

Our Mission Guided by the belief in the inherent dignity of all persons, the Pulte Family Charitable Foundation works to meet the basic human needs of the most marginalized members of the human family, including socioeconomically disadvantaged youth; the aged; persons with physical, emotional and mental disabilities; and those with the fewest material resources. In addition to the above, the Foundation seeks to serve religious communities and correlative organizations of Judeo-Christian beliefs. To this end, the Foundation strives to enact through its grantees the Seven Corporal Works of Mercy: feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty; clothe the naked; care for captives; shelter the homeless; visit the sick, and assist the mourning.

  • Please read this important statement from the Pulte Family Charitable Foundation: The Pulte name represents a legacy in the U.S. homebuilding industry and in the global philanthropic community. Over many decades, the generations of Pulte family members have grown to include the children, and more than three dozen grandchildren and great-grandchildren, of William J. Pulte (1932-2018), the founder of Pulte Homes, PulteGroup and the Pulte Family Charitable Foundation (PFCF). With the expansion of our family and its various business and charitable endeavors, PFCF believes there may be some unfortunate misunderstandings around the companies, organizations, brands and personal initiatives that bear the Pulte name. With this statement, we wish to officially clarify any confusion, most specifically as it relates to the PFCF and any perceived association with Bill Pulte, Twitter Philanthropist and CEO of Pulte Capital Partners. First and foremost, it is important to note that the PFCF bears no ill will towards Bill Pulte. We recognize and respect his place as one of William Pulte’s 25 grandchildren, and we acknowledge his right to use his own name in his own personal, business and philanthropic initiatives, including his multiple social media accounts, as long as such use does not cause confusion with PFCF. However, the PFCF believes that some of Bill Pulte’s public communications may have created confusion between our organization and his endeavors. We want to be clear that Bill Pulte is not a representative of, nor has he ever served in any capacity for, the PFCF. Likewise, we are not affiliated with Bill Pulte's efforts through Twitter philanthropy, nor his other business or personal initiatives. We additionally believe that some of Bill Pulte’s public communications through social media, public appearances, interviews, self-published articles and more may suggest that he speaks on behalf of the entire Pulte family. To the contrary, Bill Pulte does not represent, nor is he a spokesperson for, all members of the Pulte family, in any capacity. Again, our intent with this statement is to clarify the important distinction between the PFCF and Bill Pulte's personal pursuits. We seek to ensure that the PFCF’s voice is accurately represented and to resolve any confusion around these matters. Moving forward, the PFCF remains committed to upholding our founder's values of honor, integrity and charity. • St. Leo’s Soup Kitchen is an institution in Detroit, where they fed the hungry from the basement of St. Leo’s Parish for more than 50 years. In 2021, summer storms and flooding caused irreparable damage to their kitchen, forcing them to find a new home. With the support of the Pulte Family Charitable Foundation and the community, they relocated to the Center for the Works of Mercy. St. Leo’s reopened for business in November 2022, serving 30 carryout meals a day. Today, they are back to full operations serving 150 hot meals each Tuesday through Friday with the help of more than a meal, they offer dignity and hope to each person who comes for help. The Pulte Family Charitable Foundation is proud to support organizations like St. Leo’s whose mission is to end world hunger one meal at a time. 💫🍴🌎 #PulteFamilyCharitableFoundation #Touchinghearts #Changinglives

  • Pulte Scholars exemplify hard work, compassion, integrity, and a commitment to creating a better and more just world. Marcus Chidester, embodies these qualities in his commitment to academics and community involvement at Northern Michigan University (NMU). Marcus is currently a senior pursuing a degree in Construction Management and is set to graduate in May 2025. Originally from Howell, Michigan, Marcus is proud of his path to NMU, which began at Lawrence Technological University on a football scholarship. After a summer internship in construction with Barton Malow, Marcus shifted his career focus from architecture and engineering to construction management, leading him to NMU. During his time at NMU, Marcus has been involved on campus and in the community as the Vice President of Operations for the Northern Michigan University Constructors, a student organization focused on community service that received the Community Service Award in 2024. Marcus mentioned that one of his fondest memories at Northern was a community service project at Perkins Park in Big Bay, supporting an electrical and beautification project in the park. Upon graduation in 2025, Marcus plans to work for a large construction company as he begins his career. The Pulte Family Charitable Foundation is proud to support the next generation of leaders like Marcus. #pultescholars #pultefamilycharitablefoundation #touchinghearts #changinglives
