That’s a wrap! The week long Data Integration Exercise ran by the Office of Naval Research (ONR). First, what a professional organization. We (MVP Robotics, Inc. , Saab, Inc. , Scoring Technologies / JMAP) all learned a lot and pushed our technologies to the edge. What was evident is that with integration amongst industry leaders is that there is nothing we can’t do to better support the warfighter. This event proved that both shooter performance and target data can both be gathered during live fire collective training events to the same granularity as individual events. All of this is then able to provide play by play AARs. We’re excited to continue with our collaboration and look forward to seeing its practical application in the near future.
Great reporting on how data is changing the way Marines train. JMAP is one of the tools used in gathering the data for AAR and analysis.

The last two weeks have been significant for the future of infantry and service marksmanship. Two weeks ago my Gunner, with some awesome GySgts, and the help of many others added the following T&R tasks to the Infantry T&R: 1. Engage moving targets (with significant instructional resources developed by WTBN and ONR as a reference). 2. The Infantry Marksmanship Assessment (test for the Advanced Marksmanship Training Program). 3. Draft Precision Marksmanship tasks. Last week we continued to CCRB our AMTP POI and I went to WFTBN, PISC with Steve Stephenson and Jonathan Borders to discuss the way ahead with modernization of entry level marksmanship. This year’s Comabt Marksmanship Symposium will be huge and hopefully lock in more and substantial modernization in USMC marksmanship. What a great time to be the CO of WTBN Quantico!
