Second Degree is an AI-powered P2P Recruiting Platform that helps companies find and hire talent faster than traditional recruiting anywhere in the US & Latam. Here's a quick overview of how our platform operates: 1. Companies post their open positions on our platform as Job Profiles, so they get access to our Network of Professional Recruiters (users). 2. Our users share those Job profiles with their network, and those candidates decide if they want to apply or not. Since our users are all over US, Canada, and Latam, we can generate a pipeline of candidates throughout all those areas. 3. We do an internal pre-vet to ensure companies only receive qualified candidates. 4. Companies run their own interview process and decide whether they want to hire the candidate or not. 5. If they decide to hire, they are charged a hiring fee. No upfront payment & No exclusivity. We share 70% of that fee with the recruiter that made the connection. Companies & the Perfect Candidates are always at a Second Degree, no matter how far away they are from each other.

🚀 Last week, our CEO and co-founder gave an insightful talk on building unbeatable engineering teams for the new Techstars Miami Powered by J.P. Morgan cohort! The workshop touched on key aspects like attracting top-tier talent, embedding start-up culture, and the complexities of hiring in the digital age. We believe in empowering businesses with the knowledge to enhance their hiring strategies. A huge thank you to everyone who participated 🌟
Thank you, Andres Barreto, Edgard D. Duque, and Pao Correa for hosting Second Degree's Workshop at Techstars Miami Powered by J.P. Morgan last week!!! I really enjoyed sharing my experience as a hiring manager and building remote engineering teams with the great founders of this cohort.
Yesterday, a colleague asked me how much he should pay a Colombian developer. He's in California, so he had pretty much no clue. That even inspired me to write an article... https://lnkd.in/duamrcVm At Second Degree, we strongly believe that compensation should always be based on your competition: What other offers can that employee get? A Colombian developer who speaks proficient English with +5yrs of exp, is getting offers from NY and SF, probably not from Medellin... However, Latam/remote salaries HAVE to be lower than your local offering - otherwise, why would you deal with distance if you can get the same "service" from someone down the road? I certainly know people who disagree with this. What are your thoughts?!
