It’s no secret that secondhand shopping is on the rise - according to ThredUp’s Resale Report, 25% of consumers resold apparel in 2023! Whether it’s to make extra money, clean out a closet, or sustainably get rid of clothes, more and more consumers are seeking ways to keep their garments in circulation rather than tossing them into the landfill. We are proud to be a part of this movement by launching our resale partnership with ThredUP last year to continue our efforts towards circularity. We even landed on their “20 Best Brands in Resale” list! Interested in reselling your old Smartwool apparel to earn some shopping credit? Visit the link below.

About us
We exist to bring comfort, confidence, and community to a life lived outside. The Smartwool community is a collection of people who believe that time outside is valuable, restorative, and essential for everyone. We were the first outdoor company to make performance Merino wool ski socks—revolutionizing the category and forever changing the way outdoor enthusiasts viewed their feet. Our whole brand was built on the desire to be comfortable on outdoor adventures—we wanted to go farther and experience more. And that drive continues to fuel everything we do. From our Merino wool supply chain to our Smartwool advocacy program to how we design and innovate our socks and apparel, we exist to help you play, live, and laugh in the great outdoors as often as you would like. Yet, she noticed a striking absence of plus-size women of color on the trails. Determined to change this narrative, Anjelica took a simple yet bold step – posting a flyer in search of fellow hikers. Little did she know, this would blossom into a thriving community beyond her wildest dreams. Experience Anjelica's empowering story and gain insights into her remarkable journey by watching "Forward" now! English CC, Spanish subtitles, and English Audio Description available. “When we started exploring resale vendors in 2020, there were a lot of new players and a lot of different options,” Alicia Chin said, “Navigating the space definitely took some time, and understanding which business model would make the most sense for a smaller brand like Smartwool was a top priority. We ultimately chose a managed service model because we wanted to scale our program quickly and attract new customers to our brand.” Customer reaction to the Smartwool’s resale program powered by ThredUp’s RaaS has been overwhelmingly positive. The brand experienced a 99% sell-through rate of secondhand products on their resale shop throughout the first 90 days it was live. Explore the article to learn more!
