When Kendra Bailey speaks about advocating for themselves and other people with disabilities, a strong sense of pride is unmistakable. After working with several nonprofits serving marginalized groups, Kendra met with a site supervisor at Relay Resources and decided that “this is a place I need to be.” Now, Kendra is an employee success coach at the organization, and uses their voice to advocate for the disability community. James Murray had nearly 25 years of aircraft experience while in the military, but when he was injured, he wasn’t sure if he could continue the work he loved. When a friend of his connected him to a local #AbilityOne contract with TRDI Incorporated, James was able to use his wealth of skills and experience in a new career. At our 2024 Xforce National Conference, we were proud to award him with the Honor Roll for Veterans Award! #DisabilityEmployment #VeteranEmployment #DisabilityPrideMonth

Thanks to a partnership between The Abilities Connection (TAC) and a local university, Fresh Abilities is able to create food service employment opportunities for people with disabilities. Employees are able to train in a classroom setting for everything from food preparation to safety and then translate those skills into the kitchen. Fresh Abilities’ innovative program even has the potential to grow in scale, both locally and across the country. At our 2024 Xforce National Conference, we were proud to award TAC and Fresh Abilities with the Innovation Award. #DisabilityEmployment #TrueInclusionEqualsAll
