Have you been using the Daily Activity Dashboard in ZIMS? We spoke to Leslie Silvia, Assistant Registrar, John Ball Zoo about how the teams at the zoo have been using the dashboard. "Quick, clean, and individualized. It is a life changer for us. I think animal welfare improves because we can make more informed decisions. We are constantly looking at the big picture, not just each day," said Leslie Silvia. Read more in this ZIMS at Work feature. https://lnkd.in/dQcbb4jW

Species360's member support rep Uljana Kałążny recently hosted a virtual workshop for Ukrainian zoos. 🇺🇦 She presented the latest updates on Species360, Hortis by Species360, ZIMS, and the Species Conservation Toolkit Initiative (SCTI). Uljana was also joined by European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA) colleague Anna Mekarska, who presented on the EAZA Biobank. A big thank you to the Ukrainian Zoos Association for organizing the event and to all the participants who joined us online. It was wonderful connecting with you.

Some cool conservation news from The Royal Zoological Society of Scotland! Zoos and aquariums don't just conserve charismatic megafauna, they also work to save even the tiniest of species, such as the medicinal leech!
Our medicinal leeches at Highland Wildlife Park have started to produce egg cocoons... out of their own slime! Working in partnership with Buglife as part of the NatureScot Species on the Edge Initiative, we aim to breed enough leeches to start new populations in suitable lochs around the country. This is incredibly exciting news for our first breeding season 🩸💚 Find out more about our wildlife conservation charity's medicinal leech conservation project 👉 https://lnkd.in/etzxUyVf
