Lexington Exchange can support end-users including big-box and junior anchor retailers, restaurants, financial institutions, and urgent care facilities, and is currently home to an ALDI grocery store and 12-screen RC Theatres cinema. This spring marked the launch of SJP Engage, St. John Properties’ volunteer initiative for employees. A group from St. John Properties’ Virginia & Central Maryland office joined more than 70 volunteers to sort, count, load and deliver over 766,000 diapers and baby wipes for delivery to 37 churches, homeless shelters, and food pantries throughout the Northern Virginia region during last week’s Builders for Babies Diaper Drive. The annual event is organized by HomeAid National Capital Region and benefits families with babies and toddlers that are experiencing or are at risk of experiencing homelessness. St. John Properties’ Ashburn Crossing served as the drive’s collection point, where local businesses, organizations, and individuals dropped off donations of diapers and wipes ahead of the distribution event. “Our team members have worked with HomeAid in the past and upon learning of the need for a large space to house and stage the supplies, we were happy to offer space within Ashburn Crossing,” explained Matthew Holbrook, Regional Partner for St. John Properties. “We love the opportunity to serve in our community. It’s ingrained in our company culture and it’s who we are. This week St. John Properties and Somerset Companies hosted a ribbon cutting celebration for the Aspen at Melford Town Center -- a new luxury apartment community in Bowie, Maryland.    We were joined by members of the community’s development and management teams, as well as representatives from the city of Bowie and Prince George’s County, and remarks were delivered by Prince George’s County Council Chair Jolene Ivey, and Prince George’s County Councilwoman Ingrid Watson.    The 388-unit Aspen features best-in-class, oversized living spaces, and tenant amenities include a resort-style saltwater pool, pickleball courts, community room with billiards lounge, pet spa and indoor dog park, state-of-the-art fitness center and yoga studio, bike storage and repair room, and a movie theater.   The Aspen was designed for LEED Gold certification by the U.S. Green Building Council, and includes our largest rooftop solar array to date, which will generate over 693 megawatts this year.   On completion, Melford Town Center will include more than 1,700 residential units, and have over 6,500 employees working in the 1+ mil. square feet of commercial space. We’re pleased to accommodate the expansion of Intuitive Machines at Cromwell Business Park in Glen Burnie, Maryland. The diversified space exploration, infrastructure, and services company successfully landed their Nova-C class lunar lander Odysseus on the Moon earlier this year, returning the US to the lunar surface for the first time since 1972. Last week, St. John Properties’ Regional Partner, Virginia and Central Maryland Matthew Holbrook participated in Bisnow’s Exploring Frederick County event in Frederick, Maryland. Matt joined moderator Lara Fritts, CEcD, FM from the Division of Economic Opportunity, Frederick County Government, Maryland, and panelists Michael Brodsky of Goldstar Group, Brad Benna of Matan Companies, and Taylor Chess of Peterson Companies to discuss growth opportunities in Frederick County, including the life sciences, data centers, industrial, residential, and more.
