🇪🇺 This past weekend, we launched a special 2 trip pass to promote voter turnout for the #EUElections across our cities in Europe— with impressive results. 📊 The pass accounted for 81.1% of passes activated in-app, while overall trips were up +13.7% week over week on Sunday, June 9th. 🛴 These numbers highlight how #micromobility is an essential mode of transportation for Europeans, especially on important and busy days like election days. ✨ We’re thrilled to see our scooters helping citizens exercise their right to vote, making transportation easier and more accessible.

Superpedestrian is a transportation robotics company located in Cambridge, MA. Founded out of MIT in 2013, Superpedestrian develops technologies for micro-electric vehicles that optimize safety, reliability, and performance. Superpedestrian spent over 4 years developing its proprietary Vehicle Intelligence System (VIS), which was first introduced in the company’s consumer product, the Copenhagen Wheel. Since 2018, Superpedestrian has focused its efforts on engineering and validating its new electric scooter for shared fleets. In 2020, the company launched its vehicles under the brand name LINK. Featuring the mature VIS platform, Superpedestrian’s fleet scooter can detect and protect against more than 100 common malfunctions. This platform of embedded computers and cloud software enables Superpedestrian’s scooters to autonomously protect from damage during and between rides. Within nanoseconds, the scooters can detect potential problems such as battery fires, short circuits, or failed brakes, and take corrective action to avert damage. Vehicle Intelligence prevents over 50% of issues that would cause other scooters to fail, and streamlines operations if issues arise. If the scooter can’t protect itself, it automatically becomes unavailable for rental and generates a detailed service ticket for repair. The result is a substantial improvement in vehicle safety for scooter riders and major cost savings for fleet operators. Superpedestrian is re-engineering micromobility, one vehicle at a time.

EXCLUSIVE: The co-founders of Norwegian e-scooter startup SURF Beyond Group share for the first time how they bet their life savings on a sector they knew little about. “We didn’t have any scooters, we didn’t have any money, we didn’t have any experience operating scooters whatsoever,” Mats André Breesth tells Zag Daily. “We are very opportunistic people,” says Julian Alexander Hahn. “I think that’s one of the key traits for how we have gotten here. So we just went for it and launched an e-scooter business called Surf Beyond. Marius brings a wealth of experience and a fresh digital perspective that will drive our user-centric vision forward. To get to know him better, we asked Marius some quick questions ⬇️ 🏄 Why did you choose Surf Beyond? The first meeting with Mats André Breesth and Julian Alexander Hahn through Teams was incredible. They spoke passionately about 'next digital disruption for Gen Z' and 'creating a visionary platform driving societal change and digital disruption.' Their energy was infectious, and I knew instantly we were a great match. After thorough due diligence and a pivotal meeting with the team from Surf Beyond, Pioneer Capital and Blystad Group, I felt I had already started working here. 🎓 What is your educational background? I hold a Master’s degree in Finance and Business Administration from the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH) and LUISS Business School in Rome. My expertise spans investment banking, management consulting, and C-level management. I aim to blend digitalization, strategy, and corporate finance in my role, embodying the modern CFO. ⛷️ What do you like to do after work? I’m an avid barbeque enthusiast – not the gas kind, but 12-hour smoked brisket on my Big Green Egg! In the winter, you’ll find me downhill skiing, and in the summer, exploring wineries in Piemonte and Toscana with my wife. I’m also a sports fanatic, watching everything from football to curling. When not working, I love spending time with my family at our mountain chalet, enjoying long hikes and fly fishing. 🇳🇴 Where are you from? Originally from Molde on Norway’s west coast, I’ve lived in Rome during my studies and am now based in Oslo. However, I wouldn’t mind moving my office to the mountains! We hosted a fantastic joint safety event this weekend in Vienna with the other three e-scooter operators and Easydrivers Driving School for bicycles and scooters. Participants tried out scooters on a safety course, and picked out a free helmet of their choice. We gave away more than 60 helmets, and helped sign up 30 new riders! Laurenz Vavrovsky had his camera with him and took these beautiful shots of a gorgeous sunny day outside of Vienna City Hall. #micromobility #escooter

Waco, TX is now a Super-City! We rolled out our Superpedestrian scooters onto Waco streets this weekend, and we're very excited to be serving the heartland of Texas ❤️ with a local team, LINK-Up low income program, and LINK Students program serving the Baylor University Bears, McLennan Community College, and Texas State Technical College Waco. Allison Kadlubar at KWTX News 10 got to check out our scooters this morning, and shared the important reminder to drivers to keep an eye open for people scooting.
