We recently teamed up with UF Lastinger Center for Learning for a fun literacy event that offered more than a hundred local students and their family members the opportunity to enjoy reading games and activities, have a meal together and to take home free children's books. Clifford the Big Red Dog even made an appearance! As a long-standing contributor to the Lastinger Center’s New Worlds Reading initiative, TECO has supported the shipment of nearly seven million books to Florida students. We support this program with our tax dollars because we know that developing children’s confidence, skill and appreciation for reading will open their minds to new worlds of possibility and will light the way to brighter futures.
