About us
For 100 years, the Tarrant Regional Water District has provided quality water to its customers, implemented vital flood control measures, and created recreational opportunities for Tarrant County residents and communities. Led by a publicly elected five-member board, the Water District owns and operates four major reservoirs including Lake Bridgeport, Eagle Mountain Lake and the Cedar Creek and Richland-Chambers Reservoirs. TRWD has also constructed more than 250 miles of water pipelines, more than 70 miles of Trinity River Trails and a 260-acre wetland water reuse project designed to increase future water supplies for the area. As one of the largest raw water suppliers in the state of Texas, TRWD provides water to more than 2.3 million people in 11 North Central Texas counties. The Water District serves more than 30 wholesale customers including the cities of Fort Worth, Arlington, Mansfield and the Trinity River Authority. In addition, TRWD also serves as the local sponsor for the 27-mile Fort Worth Floodway and works closely with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to ensure the levees continue to protect lives and property throughout the city.

At TRWD, we have had the immense pleasure of working with our talented Cristo Rey Fort Worth College Prep interns, each bringing unique perspectives and skills to our departments. Their dedication and enthusiasm have contributed to projects and inspired us to approach our work with renewed vigor. It has been a mutually enriching experience where we have had the opportunity to share our knowledge and, in turn, learn from the fresh ideas and innovative approaches our interns bring. #TRWD #CristoRey #StudentInterns

Water conservation is a way of life at Tarrant Regional Water District, and our Learn and Grow Program empowers communities to use this precious resource wisely through presentations, workshops, and events focused on sustainable practices like native landscaping. Launched in 2016, the program has educated thousands across Tarrant County, providing participants with rain barrels, native plants, and water-saving resources. At TRWD, we're committed to conserving water for future generations and Learn and Grow plants those seeds one rain barrel and drought-tolerant plant at a time.
