Emma is a 3-time Carnegie Hall Performer, MIT Solver, and the youngest participant of the White House’s Opportunity Project. But before that, she was a Technovation Girl. She invented an app called Timeless to help Alzheimer's and dementia patients stay connected to their loved ones. Her project won her first place in 2015 and has gotten the attention of media around the world including Fast Company, Inc. Magazine, BBC and it went on to win the MIT-Solve Brain Health Challenge in 2017. Her creativity and passion for music and languages (she speaks 3 and is learning 2 more!) contribute to her successes in computer science. Emma’s journey shows you don't have to be just one thing - Technovation helps cultivate skills that translate to innovation in the real world.

This year, the UN's World Youth Skills Day is focusing on Youth Skills For Peace and Development. Through Technovation, girls develop skills that help foster a culture of cooperation and peace, enable them to be responsible global citizens, and address sustainable development goals through innovation. Year after year, our alumnae are a driving force for change in their own communities and continue to show the world the "potential of young people as agents of peace." Do you know a Technovation Alumnae who's doing great work with AI? Maybe she's our next Changemaker Award recipient. This year we're celebrating Alumnae who are working to address any of the Sustainable Development Goals with the support of AI tools between January 2023 and the present. Their projects don't have to be related to their prior Technovation submissions. The deadline is July 21st and applicants must be 18+. Apply here: https://bit.ly/3S1xqz4

Announcing winners is such a joyful part of our season. But seeing our own Technovation Girls get jobs in companies we partner with, and then return as judges - that's what it's all about. Thanks for sharing Dayane Lima.
[English] In 2020, I took part in my first international competition: Technovation Girls. That's when I also programmed my first app with a group of high school friends. We used block programming, so you can tell that I was really just starting out 😅. But it was this experience that made me realize how much I loved developing solutions through technology. In 2021, after gaining more experience in technology, I had the opportunity to speak at the Technovation Summit to encourage other girls to enter the STEM field. In 2022, I was hired as a Junior Developer by NTT DATA, a partner company of Technovation Girls. This year, I had the opportunity to represent the company as a judge for Technovation Girls 2024, evaluating solutions based on my experience and encouraging the next generation of female programmers. There were over 14,000 evaluations and more than 3,200 projects submitted this year. Ever since I got into tech, communities have supported me to continuously evolve. I'm happy to give back a little of all the support I've received, and I know I have so much more to offer! Thank you NTT DATA Europe & Latam and Technovation for enabling me to build a future where technology is inclusive and positively impacts society! #Technovation #NTTDATA #TechnovationGirls #womeninSTEM #girlsinSTEM

Even before graduating our alumnae are setting the bar high for socially conscious tech innovations. Rhea, a Sacramento native, designed an app in eighth grade to help raise awareness about ecological footprints. She is now an advocate for local and state governments to leverage their economic power and invest in technologies like Carbon Capture and Storage. Read more from Rhea: https://bit.ly/3W6Vm6M

Oracle Volunteers and their engagement in underserved communities around the world are a testament to their commitment to empowering girls. "Over the course of four months, 26 Oracle volunteers had the privilege to guide 10 teams of 41 talented students from all across India. Together, we achieved something truly special—outstanding projects covering diverse topics such as mental health, career development, environmental conservation, law, pet care, and road assistance, among others.
