TVH Executive Leaders are taking turns to complete the “Walk in My Shoes” job shadowing initiative. This program allows our leaders to work alongside our valuable staff to better understand their needs, work environment, and culture. Recently, Chief Operating Officer Bryan Visser spent time job shadowing with the Environmental Services (EVS) team. Here’s what he had to say about the experience: “I recently had the opportunity to job shadow with our Environmental Services team. We emptied trash, disposed of pharmaceutical waste, and I learned the steps it takes to properly clean a room following a patient’s discharge. I am impressed with the attention to detail and special care that this team takes to keep our patients and staff comfortable and safe. I was especially impressed by the way that the staff on the nursing units value the contributions of the EVS techs. I observed Steve helping a nurse get supplies for a patient’s care when they were unable to leave the patient’s room to get it themselves.
