Your summer office is probably a lot different than your "normal" office. The vibe just changes with so many people in and out, taking vacations, and not being around as much for the regular routine. However, the culture in your department or at your organization remains important. While it's hard to have regular meetings and events since everyone may not be engaged, you can keep your culture energized. ➡️ Here's a tip our COO/Senior Recruiter Tina White shared that I love: "We would randomly make a Friday during the summer an ice cream day. Go around city hall or Public Works handing out popsicles or fudge pops…just because. And stop and chat for a few minutes. It’s incredibly energizing." 💯 ___ Share your tips in the comments for keeping culture alive and thriving during the summer. 👇

I think my LinkedIn fam knows that I'm a big believer in striving to always have an optimistic mindset. It's a huge part of being a great leader for many reasons. However, there may be another side to consider, and we should challenge ourselves to consider all angles... ➡️What if the MOST effective leadership style requires more than just optimism? We also need: 👉Realism: Leaders need to assess situations accurately, which sometimes means acknowledging and addressing negative realities rather than overlooking them with excessive optimism. 👉Credibility: Constant optimism might seem insincere or out of touch if not matched with actual circumstances. 👉Preparedness: Over-optimism can lead to under-preparing for potential challenges. Leaders should also plan for less favorable outcomes. 👉Emotional Resonance: Leaders who can empathize with various emotional states, including those less positive, can better connect with and support their teams. Let's challenge my bias toward optimism: Can leaders be optimistic and realistic? Can leaders be optimistic and credible? Can leaders be optimistic and prepared? Can leaders be optimistic and resonate with others emotionally? ___ I'd love to hear from you: How do you balance optimism with realism in your leadership? Can a leader maintain credibility and preparedness while fostering a positive outlook? Appreciate you sharing with others. 💜 This is a topic worthy of discussion! 🔄
