Young Audiences of Northeast Texas uses the arts to enrich the lives of children and enhance their education. The organization serves schools across 17 counties to enhance learning, provide artistic access, and open pathways of critical and creative thinking. On Tuesday, April 16th, the group held their annual Arts in Education Awards program at Willow Brook Country Club in Tyler. Henderson ISD Director of Bands, Craig Haynie, was honored as the recipient of the Arts Teaching Excellence in High School award. Texas Bank is a community partner with Henderson ISD, so we were excited to join the celebration as we honored one of the district's outstanding employees. Congratulations, Mr. Haynie! Our team had a great time on Saturday, April 13th attending the Community Wealth Building Day at Tyler ISD. This event was sponsored by the East Texas Black Realists & the National Association of Real Estate Brokers and welcomed over 250 attendees. During the event, guests learned about investing in real estate, establishing lines of credit, how to build and leverage good credit, the ABCs of homebuying, careers in real estate, and a presentation over the State of Housing in Black America.
