Emergency response systems were reported down at some of the Phoenix area's biggest police agencies and health-care providers early Friday, affecting vital services across the region. Because their computers weren't working, some police and ambulance providers were dispatching cars manually. Emergency dispatchers were able to take 911 calls but were writing down information on paper to share with first responders.

It's not just Tenacious D bandmate Kyle Gass. In the wake of the violent assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump's life, plenty of people took to social media to make jokes and comments, and they're reaping the consequences. School employees, a restaurant worker, a fire chief and a political aide have all lost their jobs or resigned after outrage over their posts, according to statements by their employers and news reports.

From Phil Boas: "I’m probably not the best person to sound off on the price of beer at Chase Field. When I was 12 or so, I sneaked a few sips from my Dad’s Budweiser and scrunched my nose. My drinking days were over. So, I’m not exactly an authority on the subject. But I read Arizona Republic sportswriter Theo Mackie’s piece on how the standard beer sold at Diamondbacks’ games is pretty pricey — $15.49 for a 24-ounce domestic can, $16.49 for 'premium.' That perked my interest. And demands a response."

The U.S. Department of Education issued a warning to schools “engaging in misrepresentations or otherwise lying to students” after an Arizona Republic investigation highlighted claims that the University of Arizona’s newest online program misled students about the cost and value of their degrees. Two U.S. senators and Gov. Katie Hobbs also weighed in with criticism in response to what former students described as aggressive marketing tactics that involved deceptive information about career prospects and degree-financing. Such behavior was a hallmark of Ashford University, which UA bought in 2020 and rebranded as the University of Arizona Global Campus or UAGC. Read more at our link below 👇
