🤝 #TeamThrasher takes pride in being able to work with community leaders to meet the needs of their residents. The recent groundbreaking for the new wastewater treatment plant in Mason County reminds us how impactful local officials and organizations can be. Nucor Steel donated 10 acres of land to the Mason County Public Service District for the treatment plant through collaboration with the Mason County Development Authority. Funding for the facility was made possible with grants from the West Virginia Department of Economic Development, U.S. Economic Development Administration, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, American Electric Power, West Virginia Infrastructure and Jobs Development Council, and West Virginia Water Development Authority. The grants are expected to cover the total project (plant and extensions) cost of $25-26 million. Investment in this state-of-the-art facility will allow for the capacity to manage wastewater efficiently and support continued growth in Mason County.

🌄 5 Fast Facts About West Virginia Infrastructure 🌉 Happy WV Day! In honor of the great state that means so much to #TeamThrasher, we’re sharing 5 Fast Facts About West Virginia Infrastructure. 1. Mountainous Terrain Over 38,000 miles of public roads navigate through the Mountain State's challenging mountainous landscape - often making maintenance and improvement efforts crucial for safety and connectivity. 2. Bridges Galore WV boasts more than 7,000 bridges! These essential structures connect communities, but repair or replacement due to age and wear is vital for a safe future for residents and visitors. 3. Rural Broadband Expansion Efforts are underway to bridge the digital divide. The state has received significant federal funding to improve broadband access, particularly in rural areas. 4. Coal Heritage Historically, the state's infrastructure has been heavily influenced by the coal industry. Railways and roads developed to support coal transport still play a key role in the state's economy. 5. New River Gorge Bridge One of the state's most iconic landmarks, this engineering marvel is the third-highest bridge in the United States, symbolizing both the challenges and triumphs of WV's infrastructure development. Improving infrastructure in West Virginia is key to ensuring a safer, more connected future for all residents of the Mountain State! 📸 by EJ Strat #WestVirginia #Infrastructure #Engineering #WVDay
