Since completing The Fred Richards Master Plan in 2018, we have been eager to see the plan become reality. We are making progress, and our first open house was a success—over 150 residents and community leaders showed up to support and give their hopes for this nature-focused and inclusive park. We can't wait for the community to have the space they have been dreaming of! We welcome and encourage feedback from the community. Our team is growing—Emalie has joined the Confluence team as an Accounting Specialist. Emalie Cipale—you can call her Em—grew up in Des Moines, Iowa, and is an East High alum. In her free time, you can find her enjoying time with her daughter, Harper, and their two pets, Winifred and Binx. She loves thrifting, watching baseball games, and making art projects with her daughter. Her favorite movie is The Notebook—reflecting her love for heartfelt stories. She is an avid traveler, particularly drawn to the charm of the East Coast, with Boston and Salem being her top destinations. In addition to her dynamic personality, Emalie has an ambitious goal on her bucket list: to write a book about her grandma’s life. She is also pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice and Social Work and is deeply passionate about victims' rights and advocacy. She hopes to use her degree to change the criminal justice system one day. We are thrilled to have Em with us! Please give her a warm welcome below.

"Seven low-carbon concrete mixes were developed for the construction of the new Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library in North Dakota. The concrete used for the project is a new low-carbon mix designed to reduce the global warming potential by nearly 50%, compared to standard mixes from the ready-mix supplier, utilizing recycled byproducts such as fly ash and slag." https://lnkd.in/gTxctH8A

Confluence has always advocated to enhance Kansas City’s riverfront. We’re grateful to have been part of the early visioning process and look forward to seeing continued progress in the future. https://lnkd.in/gjyMkyCH
Once toxic, this huge riverfront park is ‘potential gem’ Kansas City has largely ignored

On Tuesday, our team met with Overland Park community members at Matt Ross Community Center to gather ideas on the future of Marty Park. We love to involve those who will use the facilities in the design process and are excited to continue to hear from the community about their hopes for the next iteration of this park at our next public meeting.

Last week, @forms_surfaces invited a few staff members from each of our offices to visit their factory and woodshop in Pittsburgh. From immersive tours of their manufacturing process and the woodshop to a presentation of soon-to-be-released products and a walk around the showroom for a closer look at all newly-released products, our team now has a better understanding of the quality control of one of the top manufacturers in this field and how their designs satisfy clients’ needs with touches of unnoticeable thoughts and details. In addition to the incredible behind-the-scenes tours, our team had a chance to explore the riverfront, wander the Andy Warhol Museum, and take a ride at Duquesne Incline with a breathtaking city skyline view. Thanks to Emily Neuenschwander, Jackie Dietz, Bob Harlow, Adam Tripp, John Wafford, and the rest of the Forms + Surfaces team for such a great time!
