About us

Trusted Mentors connects trained volunteer mentors with at risk adults to help more people stay housed and out of prison. We Mentor for Change with a consistent success rate of 90%. Our partnership model with multiple agencies has the advantage of no duplication of services. We currently collaborate with multiple agencies including RecycleForce, Adult and Child, Homeless Initiative Program, Horizon House, Nurse Family Partnership and Children’s Bureau. We are experiencing growth in the number of clients mentored and agencies served. Volunteer mentors are provided training in the skill of mentoring and then provided professional support by our staff. Training is provided monthly. Mentors commit to an average of 6 hours/month for a year to work one on one with another person to help them succeed at staying housed or not return to prison. By volunteering an average of 6 hours a month, our mentors transform lives - and our community. Volunteers can also assist with three important fundraisers: Empowerment Luncheon is held in February and includes the LIFT Award to recognize mentees who have gone above and beyond in their success. The Fresh Start Bike Tour is a peer to peer event that tours sustainable gardens in Indianapolis. The Gala is an evening event held with a fun theme. Sponsorship opportunities are also available. We are actively building board members who are passionate about helping people remain housed and succeed at not returning to prison.
