Get an exciting look into the newest UMass Memorial Medical Center addition coming January 2025!
We may only be halfway into 2024, but our eyes are already set on 2025 because of an exciting new addition! UMass Memorial Medical Center is converting the former Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center into the Medical Center’s North Pavilion — a 73,000 square foot inpatient, acute-care facility that is part of our University Campus. What should you know about the all-new North Pavilion? 👉 We plan to open the North Pavilion in January 2025. 👉 It will have 72 new hospital beds in private rooms at its opening with additional space for 24 more beds. 👉 All patient rooms will be equipped with an interactive television system with educational materials for patients, offering information about their diagnosis and what to expect while in the hospital and once they go home. 👉 Electronic boards in all patient rooms will display who is on a patient’s care team, automatically updating as their physicians, nurses and personal care assistants switch shifts. 👉 Patients will be able to attend telehealth visits through webcams within their rooms with medical providers who are not at the North Pavilion. 👉 The North Pavilion will add approximately 450 new positions to the Medical Center, benefiting our area’s economy. This addition is all about improving the quality of and access to health care for our patients, and we couldn't be more thrilled to bring the North Pavilion to our community soon.
