At the July 11 annual meeting of West Virginia 811, USIC Area Manager CJ Walters was appointed to the Board of Directors as a representative of associate members, and USIC Director of Government Affairs Chris Russ continues to serve on the Board’s Legislative Committee, which addresses updates to the state’s one call law. We are honored by these opportunities to collaborate with our partners in damage prevention to protect our West Virginia infrastructure and communities. Thank you to the Central Florida District and Technician Zabrina Diaz for hosting our VP of Government Affairs, Nancy Mitchell, today! A day in the field provides an up-close view of an operating environment impacted by record levels of infrastructure investment and increased project work. The experience will inform the Government Affairs Team’s work to educate legislators and regulators on one call law updates needed to ensure safe digging.
