On Friday, we joined Representative David Cook and our friends at the Arizona Food Bank Network for a monthly distribution event with Gila Community Food Bank at the Walmart in Claypool, near Globe. Representative Cook, along with our President and CEO Jason Reed, our staff members, and other volunteers, handed out food to our rural neighbors in need. Thanks to Representative Cook's efforts in securing state funding in 2023, Gila Community Food Bank (GCFB) has achieved incredible improvements this year. Following the distribution event, we had the opportunity to visit GCFB and see their newly renovated building, which now includes: 🚐 A larger van to transport more food 🚧 A newly paved driveway 🏠 New windows ❄️ New freezers These upgrades are vital in helping GCFB reach more families in need. We're deeply grateful for Representative Cook's continued support and dedication to fighting hunger in our community.
