As the Fourth of July is often marked with fireworks, cookouts, and family gatherings, UNM offices are closed today to also observe the anniversary of our nation’s adoption of the Declaration of Independence. This day of celebration captures the American spirit, and Lobos join to honor all those who serve this country and represent it here and abroad. We remember those whose bravery and sacrifices continue to serve and protect our nation. Happy Independence Day.

UNM offices will be closed on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, in observance of Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day. On this day, we honor freedom while reflecting on the profound effect slavery has had on our nation's history. And at UNM, we celebrate a diverse student body, enriching our institution and providing us with the ability to learn with and from those different from ourselves.
