PPPM students like Catalina are what make our school so great.
Meet Catalina Kurihara, first on her mom’s side to go to college and future star in political science and public relations. Catalina was nervous when first accepted to the University of Oregon and worried she wouldn't find friends with similar interests and backgrounds. That worry quickly faded when she got involved in the UO community. Whether discussing classes over coffee, going hiking, or chatting about books, chess, and jazz music, she’s developed a true sense of belonging at the UO. “Coming to the university was the best decision of my life,” Catalina said. Learn how she found her niche at the UO and how the #Oregon150 Initiative is benefitting students like Catalina. 🔗 https://bit.ly/3L1J3lV

It was super sweet to get this recognition as an alumni from the University of Oregon School of Planning, Public Policy and Management. 🏆🌟 Getting my Arts Management masters degree has made a big impact in work/life! In my remarks, I shared about what the arts have taught me in my leadership journey: the power of being in process, staying vulnerable and open, and having courage to do something when it feels hard or ambiguous. "The Distinguished Recent Alumna/us Award is given to more recent graduates, usually within fewer than 10 years of graduation, who have shown extraordinary success within the period since finishing their University of Oregon degree. Attempts will be made to alternate awardees between the undergraduate degree and the three masters programs."
At the University of Oregon School of Planning, Public Policy and Management our students don’t have to wait to make a difference. It starts here, while they are still in school.
Congratulations to our board member Sian Dim Lun, who just graduated with her Masters in Nonprofit Management, from the University of Oregon School of Planning, Public Policy and Management! Sian Dim came to us through the Scholars on Board course, which requires students to serve on a nonprofit board of directors for a year. She has been instrumental in helping jump-start our volunteer program, as well as assisting at ShelterCare's donor parties, open houses, the Cornhole tournament, Mega Dance, and representing us at public events. Congratulations on this wonderful accomplishment! We look forward to seeing all of the positives you will bring to this world throughout your career!

I was so honored and surprised to have been nominated for the “Outstanding Service to the School by an Undergraduate Student” award at the Planning, Public Policy, and Management Award Ceremony.
