Our #MHA Executive students, faculty, and board members are gaining a unique perspective on healthcare systems through our Global Comparative Health Systems course! This week, they're in #Spain, meeting with healthcare leaders and learning about the country's healthcare model. First stop in #Madrid was Hospital Universitario de Torrejón were the HSPM delegation met with the leadership team, toured the beautiful hospital, and learned about their vast clinical services. Next stop was UNIDAD MÉDICA ANGLOAMERICANA were they met with the brilliant doctors and administrators and provided valuable insights into the Spanish National Health system's structure and learned about the services of the multispecialty clinic in the heart of Madrid. So thankful for the very warm hospitality of both sites. Stay tuned for next days' adventures into the Spanish health system.

I can not express enough gratitude for the support and mentorship from Gillian Sanders Schmidler Brystana Kaufman (she/her) Sudha Raman Megan Shepherd-Banigan Heidi Allen and Don Taylor during this creative process. I'm now on the move to the Arnold School of Public Health at the University of South Carolina as an assistant professor in the Health Services Policy and Management Department in August.

Our faculty enjoyed #networking, #collaborating, and #learning at the Association of University Programs in Health Administration (AUPHA) Annual Meeting this week in beautiful Tampa, Florida. This professional development opportunity engaged us in reimagining, reinventing, and transforming #healthadministration education for our students in these exciting and dynamic times. We contributed to the conversation through participation in a Collaboration and Conversation session (Ed Bell) as well as a poster presentation (Melinda Merrell & Ed Bell). Thank you to Dan Gentry, Jaime Stephens, CMP, CAE, Jason Walker, and the entire AUPHA team for putting together a great meeting! Pictured below: Brad Wright BANKOLE OLATOSI, FACHE Melinda A. Join Melinda A. Merrell, PhD, and Ed Bell, MHA, for a poster session at the AUPHA Annual Conference in Tampa, FL, on June 4-5. The session will cover Student Competency Assessment using Healthcare System Sustainability as a Focus. Assessing students' competency development across program curricula is not just a theoretical exercise, but a practical necessity for ensuring learning across competency domains. This poster presentation will demonstrate how one program has integrated healthcare system sustainability, a timely and relevant topic, into its curriculum and competency assessment. By focusing on environmental aspects related to the global climate emergency, the presentation will highlight the practical implications of such an approach. Don't miss this opportunity to learn more about this important topic. See you in Tampa! #USCArnoldSchool #USCHSPM #MHA #healthcareleaders #AUPHA #healthcare #sustainability #climateemergency #ESG #climatechange
