We were honored to be pier-side this morning supporting the homecoming of the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69), providing refreshments, welcome-home sign making, the USO-National Football League (NFL) Gaming Trailer and yard games to the thousands of families who have been waiting 9-long months to finally reunite with their loved ones. Thank you to Planet Technologies and your team for volunteering to support our local USO staff and volunteers at Joint Base Andrews yesterday during one of our many summer Tailgate Trailer “Hot Dog Day” events. We truly appreciate your support in lifting the spirits of our service members during these long and hot summer days by sharing snacks, cool refreshments and goodie bags graciously provided by our partners Coca-Cola Consolidated and Giant Food.

THIS JUST IN! We are thrilled to announce that our USO Center at the Naval Station Norfolk AMC Terminal has been selected as a 2024 Lowe's Companies, Inc. Hometowns project! For over the past three decades, the USO Center at the Naval Station Norfolk AMC Terminal has proudly served those who serve; providing programs and services to support our nation's military and their families as they to travel to their next duty station and assignments. The center will be renovated with new furniture, flooring, paint, water filtration and plumbing to create a refreshed and more enjoyable space. This project means so much to us! We can’t wait to share the progress and final reveal of our refreshed center with you. The Lowe’s Hometowns grant program has renovated 149 community centers, affordable housing facilities, shelters and food pantries; refurbished 15 first responder and veteran/military family facilities; and built and improved 54 community gardens, parks and playgrounds, among many other impactful projects – and is set to tackle 100 more community projects this year. Congratulations to team United States Air Force for taking home First Place in the Military Chef Cook-Off as part of the 32nd Annual Giant Food National Capital Barbecue Battle this past weekend.
