We are delighted to share that Gillian Hedrick is the recipient of the 2024 Sherri King Memorial Scholarship, a full-tuition award given each year to a rising third- or fourth-year female student who has demonstrated excellence in #mathematics, #economics, or #finance and who serves as an example of #responsibleleadership for their classmates or the Charlottesville community. The UVA Alumni Association scholarship is named in honor of Sherri King, a former UVIMCO Managing Director and community leader, who passed away tragically in 2014. Gillian, a native of Virginia, is a fourth year at the UVA McIntire School of Commerce, earning her major in Finance and minor in Computer Science. Gillian has leveraged her knowledge of finance as a student leader by providing loans to under-resourced individuals in the Charlottesville community, and she is also interested in creating sustainable economic solutions in rural communities. She plans to begin her career in finance working close to the rural communities that may benefit from her expertise and passion for collaborating for the greater good. https://lnkd.in/eDwViXim
