  • 🌊 For this 3rd #WaterSchool topic we’ll talk about blue water! Blue water is the ⭐𝗳𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗵 𝘂𝗿𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗿 𝗹𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀⭐, but it's also more than that – it's the lifeblood of our planet. From the ancient Nile floods that birthed Egyptian civilization to the modern-day reservoirs powering our cities, blue water has always been crucial. But our control over blue water comes at a cost. We've built many dams around the world, altering natural flows and affecting the natural water cycle. Our activities, from agriculture to industry, have turned us into major actors in the water cycle, for better or worse. 🌿 It's time to rethink how we manage this vital resource.

  • Jim Rieke, Vice President of Process Engineering for our Veolia HPD Evaporation and Crystallization technology was recently interviewed in the latest Engineering & Mining Journal issue. Veolia provides “customized and optimized” solutions to recover #lithium from rock, clay, and brines, Rieke said. Standard processes “generally include an HPD #crystallization step for final purification and production of a crystalline material,” he said. “But Veolia also provides upstream unit operations for purification and concentration such that we can offer an integrated solution with a single umbrella process guarantee.” “Veolia has a tremendous amount of institutional knowledge, laboratory capabilities, and proprietary equipment features that we have developed through our history of supplying integrated high-purity chemical production systems that we are now bringing to bear in support of the battery materials industry.” Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/e-NBn83N Discover more about Veolia's lithium capabilities: https://lnkd.in/gYw6E4Fc #lithiumprocessing #lithiumrefining #batterymaterials

  • 💻On-Demand Webinar | Low-Level Metals Removal from Mine Wastewater About this webinar: #Mine sites have to deal with a variety of #water sources such as underground water from mine operations and run-off from rain and snowfall melt. The water used in the #minewater treatment process can be heavy in metals, leaching or particulates. In order to comply with stringent environmental regulations, metal concentrations must be removed from the mine water before discharge to the #environment. In this webinar, we evaluate technologies utilized to treat low-level metals to ensure compliance. • Case Study | ANITA Mox™: Shortcut to Nitrogen Removal The Central Valley Water Reclamation Facility (CVWRF) is located in South Salt Lake City, Utah. The CVWRF serves five Improvement Districts and two cities that have been increasingly growing and collects between 50 and 60 MGD of wastewater daily. The effluent from CVWRF is discharged to Mill Creek and Jordan River. Discover how ANITA Mox technology was utilized at this plant: https://lnkd.in/eTfBQ8zJ #municipalwater #wastewater #nitrogenremoval

  • 🏫 Here is the course no. 2 of the #WaterSchool! 💧 Have you ever wondered why Earth is so special? It's not just because it's home, but because it's the perfect distance from the sun, allowing water to exist in three states: liquid, solid, and gas. #Freshwater, ⭐𝘄𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗿 𝗻𝗼 𝘀𝗮𝗹𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁⭐, is a vital part of this cycle. Only 3% of Earth's water is fresh, and most of it is locked away in glaciers and underground. This tiny fraction is crucial for everything we do. The water cycle is an incredible process: ☀️ 𝗘𝘃𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Water from oceans and lakes turns into vapor. 🌱 𝗘𝘃𝗮𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Plants release water vapor into the air. ☁️ 𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Water vapor cools and forms clouds. 🌧️ 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Water falls back to Earth as rain, snow, or hail. 🏞 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗹𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Water soaks into the ground. 💧 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Water moves through soil and rocks, replenishing aquifers. This delicate balance supports life in ways we often take for granted. From the rivers that nourish our crops to the clouds that bring rain, the real #WaterCycle is a marvel of nature that has sustained life for millenia, but human activities and climate change are altering its rhythm.

As the world leader in #lithium evaporation and crystallization technologies, Veolia plays a central role in this strategic market, essential to the development of sustainable mobility. 🍃 Lithium is a strategic commodity that is essential in developing sustainable mobility. POSCO Lithium Solution, a subsidiary of South #Korea ’s largest steel manufacturer, has chosen Veolia to provide its technological and industrial expertise for the production of battery-quality lithium hydroxide. 🔋 The aim is to design and deliver an integrated conversion system using its advanced HPD® purification and crystallization technology, that refines salts needed for electric #battery production. ⚡ This advanced technology will make the production process more #sustainable and water-efficient. The patented chemical conversion maximizes reuse of the condensate generated, with a recovery rate of over 94%, significantly reducing the #water footprint of the industrial process. 💧 This will be a real asset for South Korea, the world’s second-largest producer in this sector, as it works to step up domestic production of lithium hydroxide. 🚀

  • Owing to its heavy industrial past, Randle Reef became the largest contaminated sediment site on the Canadian side of the Great Lakes. Many improvements had been made to reduce pollution but the legacy problem of #contaminated sediment remained. The site contained approximately 695,000 cubic meters of sediment contaminated with polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (#PAHs) and other toxic chemicals. Learn more about how Veolia helped remediate Randle Reef: https://lnkd.in/gX2Jtp78 #remediation #veolia #pah #environment #sustainability #ecologicaltransformation
