We're so excited to roll out another project that was supported by our Made Here Fund. The new animated short film "Love of the Land," from Vermont filmmaker Travis Van Alstyne, tells the story of Ascutney farmer Romaine Tenney, whose farm was seized by eminent domain in 1964 in order to build Interstate 91. The University of Vermont is initiating a mentorship pilot initiative called the "Young Men of Talent" program for Black and Latino male students. This program seeks to provide networking and professional growth prospects for students of color with the goal of addressing the decline in college enrollment among Black and Latino men. We're so proud to announce a new artist collaboration series that celebrates the creative people that call Vermont home. The first piece features Burlington-based digital artist Raphaella Brice. Raph’s art is inspired in part by her Haitian roots and describes her style as “cultural-psychedelic” — the art Raph creates draws from cultural, spiritual and mystical references while using vibrant color palettes. https://lnkd.in/eQwybMdB
