Last week, Microsoft made Entra Private Access generally available (GA). It's an identity-centric Zero Trust Network Access that secures access to private apps and resources and reduces operational complexity and cost by replacing legacy VPNs. Interested? We've got you covered. We've been working on a pre-GA customer project and have documented what we learned in this case study.

To follow up with A-CX’s dedication to showcasing AI’s societal impacts, new strategies have emerged to help end animal testing. AI is accelerating the search for non-animal testing alternatives by analyzing global animal testing data, reducing the need for new tests. Systems like ChatGPT are proving effective in extracting and synthesizing data, aiding toxicity assessment and drug development. Despite its promise, AI faces challenges like data bias and regulatory approval. Still, it offers a significant advancement over traditional animal testing methods and may eventually help phase out animal testing altogether. #ai #approachableai

A McGill-led team developed the first real-time, AI-assisted technology capable of detecting nanoplastics in water instantly. This innovation, dubbed "AI-Assisted Nano-DIHM," identifies and differentiates nanoplastics from other particles, offering a revolutionary approach to monitoring plastic pollution. According to lead author Parisa Ariya, this technology can locate pollution "hotspots," enhancing our understanding of plastic pollution's impact on ecosystems. Preliminary tests in Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River show promising results. #ai #approachableai

Legal documents, HR data, and source code are being fed into unauthorized AIs, creating significant risks for IT leaders. Employees are using unlicensed AI models, such as ChatGPT and Google Gemini, for work tasks, often bypassing corporate accounts. This leads to potential data misuse and increased "shadow AI" concerns. Research shows a surge in AI tool usage, with significant implications for data security. Organizations must establish strong AI governance and data management practices to mitigate these risks. Thank you Jyrki Tulokas for spotting this informative article. #ai #approachableai
