7 years ago we celebrated World Rainforest Day for the first time. World Rainforest Day was founded in 2017 by Rainforest Partnership. Aside from convening this global celebration, Rainforest Partnership leads groundbreaking research and biodiversity expeditions in Peru and works with local and indigenous communities in Ecuador to protect primary rainforest and support sustainable livelihoods. We're so proud of the work we do, the communities and partners we do it with, and the many organizations protecting and restoring our planet's rainforests alongside us. Happy #WorldRainforestDay!

On World Environment Day, following my discussion with our esteemed judge Sten Saluveer at the 77th Cannes Film Festival last week, I am delighted to announce the finalists in Rainforest Partnership's international film competition, "Films for the Forest (F3)". The final winners of this esteemed competition will be announced on June 22, World Rainforest Day. Sharing the stories of our planet is a labour of love, perseverance and commitment - this year's competition features unique categories that received an impressive 84 submissions from 30 different countries. Please join me in congratulating everyone who entered this year, and continue the work to amplify the voices of nature.
