Pioneered by Murray Raney in 1926 from his home laboratory in Chattanooga, Tennessee, RANEY® catalyst were originally designed for solidifying liquid vegetable oils, but quickly evolved into one of the world's most essential catalysts by 1950. Today, this catalyst facilitates the transformation of building-block chemicals into pharmaceuticals, food ingredients, and much more. Learn more about RANEY® catalyst. This new plaque for RANEY® nickel catalyst is proudly displayed on the wall of the The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Thank you to the American Chemical Society for the prestigious National Historical Chemical Landmark award, as well as University of Tennessee at Chattanooga for this recognition! 👏 Read about the catalysts remarkable journey here: https://lnkd.in/dpH6Zh_e 🔔 Follow Grace on LinkedIn and turn on our bell notification for similar content! #ChemicalInnovation #Catalysts #Chemistry #Technology

Whether it's managing feedstocks or dealing with contaminating metals, the demands on refiners are high. Addressing the challenges of fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) requires fresh ideas and approaches to minimize disruptions – like our latest strides in iron tolerance that led to a new iron deactivation protocol, Grace-IDP. 💡 Want to know more? Join Gary Cheng, Luis Bougrat, and Shankhamala Kundu on August 14 at 10:00 a.m. EST for our upcoming webinar with Hydrocarbon Engineering magazine where they’ll take a deep dive into our breakthrough research that led to major FCC catalyst iron tolerance advancements. To keep plastic film from sticking together, many manufacturers use talc or natural silica – both of which need to be used in concentrations that are so high as to reduce film clarity – and consumer perceptions. When appearance matters, Grace’s SYLOBLOC® P 05, a highly pure anti-blocking agent for LDPE and LLDPE films, delivers anti-blocking properties without sacrificing clarity. For more about how to achieve clear and effective thin film anti-blocking, check out our latest blog with Gonda Van Essche, Director of Technical Customer Service, answering common questions: https://lnkd.in/dscqhH_r #PlasticManufacturing #ThinFilms #Manufacturing #QualityControl

Recently we had the opportunity to share our insights with refiners attending GRPC 2024, held in New Delhi June 27-28. Mukund Balachandran, Sr. Technical Service Manager and FCC expert, presented our latest FCC technology innovations. 🛢️ He showed how we’re helping refiners more efficiently produce light olefins and petrochemical precursors and meet evolving market needs beyond traditional fuels. Dr. Rafael González Sánchez, MBA, Regional Marketing Manager for India and Asia Pacific, discussed our co-processing catalyst technologies. 🌱 He highlighted how we've improved tolerance to unconventional metals in feedstocks, enabling refiners to process a wider range of low-carbon biogenic feedstocks. By enhancing refining capabilities, we help empower customers for future success in Southeast Asia! 🌟 #GRPC2024 #Refining #Innovation #Petrochemicals #FCCTechnology

🔬 Grace's groundbreaking new Iron Deactivation Protocol (Grace-IDP) is a game-changer for the fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) industry. 💡 Grace experts developed a three-pronged approach to maximize iron tolerance from your FCCU, leveraging critical matrix surface area, porosity, and metals passivation in catalyst strategy. Using this approach together with the Grace-IDP, we can work closely with you to tackle the most challenging feedstocks through innovative technology to unlock more value. 📑 Read the whitepaper detailing these technology breakthroughs: https://lnkd.in/d2kcGQYr #RefiningTechnologies #Manufacturing #WhitePaper

Congratulations to Sebastian Schaefer, Vice President, Regional Manufacturing, and Managing Director at Worms, on his new role as Chairman. We echo his sentiments on the importance of balancing regulation with economic strength. A strong, competitive industry relies on trust, affordable energy, and streamlined regulations. Join us in welcoming the newly elected Executive Board members. 👏 #Leadership #IndustryInnovation #EconomicStrength #CorporateLeadership

🔍 Particularly in the pharmaceutical industry, drug purity isn’t just a goal – it’s essential for achieving safety, stability and efficacy. However, purification is easier said than done, especially with challenging molecules like DNA and RNA “oligonucleotides,” due in large part to their diversity and the range of impurities that can be generated during production. 🌍 Enter DAVISIL® chromatographic silica, with a wide range of pore diameters and particle sizes to meet your specific application, performance and sustainability requirements. Before you choose the chromatography resin for your next purification application, take a look at these 5 considerations: https://lnkd.in/db25ncCq #Pharmaceuticals #PharmaTech #Chromatography
