On June 1st we had a 24 hour song challenge, where we put the call out to regional musicians to write a song in 24 hours, based on the prompt of "Summertime." We had 310 submissions. The four finalists have been announced; indie rocker Best Bear with “Fireworks,” soulful crooner Khalil Amaru in “Dear June,” folk singer-songwriter Mackenzie Johnson in “Sunburn,” and by R&B / pop singer Yuneer Gainz in “Grown Man Tears.” One of these musicians will be chosen as the grand prize winner.
