🌟 New Blog Post Alert! 🌟
📖 Sara Keen dives into a recent event jointly hosted by Interspecies Internet Internet and XPRIZE to discuss the criteria and frameworks for decoding animal communication.
“...the workshop underscored that we are on the precipice of something big: more research focus, data, and technology are being directed towards animal communication than ever before. As we start to uncover more about our planet and its inhabitants, our understanding of other species will fundamentally change, enabling humans to reimagine our relationships with the natural world.”

The Animals in Translation hybrid workshop, fostering collaboration both digitally and in-person, brought together incredible researchers to tackle pressing questions over two days:
🔍 What are some of the barriers to decoding animal communication?
🧩 What is the relationship between human observation and machine learning models?
✅ How might we define evidence for successful translation?
We are preparing to share the transformative outcomes and insights from this event. We'll be releasing a publication featuring our key findings, as well as videos of all the presentations from our incredible speakers.
We are excited to introduce XPRIZE Board Member Cayley Tullman's newest nonprofit, Let Music Fill My World (LMFMW), dedicated to ensuring every child in America has access to music education in their school. https://lnkd.in/gpu6Uf3C
This year, in partnership with John Ondrasik of Five for Fighting, LMFMW established the national Music Matters Challenge, an annual national music competition to promote music as an outlet and tool for young people to break down social barriers, find connection to community, combat rising levels of anxiety and depression, and build resilience to withstand life’s challenges. Participants shared their stories and performed their renditions of the Let Music Fill My World song, written by high school students from Farragut Career Academy in Chicago, IL.
Voted on by the public in June 2024, the LMFMW winners included a budding musician who won a $10,000 cash prize and a high school that received a $25,000 grant which they will use to travel to and perform at Carnegie Hall. LMFMW will soon announce the school receiving a $300,000 grant to fund a full-time music teacher for three years!
At XPRIZE, empowering people to harness their creativity, collaboration, and innovative spirit to solve some of the world’s biggest challenges is part of what we do. Tullman sees music as a way to teach and encourage these same values. As LMFMW gears up for next year’s Music Matters Challenge, they welcome collaboration with partners who share the belief that music education is essential for nurturing our future generation's potential.
