Historically, people with disabilities have faced exclusion and misconceptions. Embracing and celebrating all forms of disability, along with their overlapping identities, is an important step towards creating a more inclusive society. July is #DisabilityPrideMonth. Throughout the month, we'll share ways to educate ourselves and amplify the voices of people with disabilities. The more we listen to people with disabilities and share their truths, the more we can drive positive change!

As we head into the Fourth of July holiday and celebrate the freedoms we've gained throughout history, we also reflect on the work that still lies ahead. While we honor the progress made, we remain committed to ensuring that these freedoms extend to every individual in our community. Together and everyday, let's continue the fight for equality and justice, striving to make the promise of freedom a reality for ALL.

For the very first time, the City of Cincinnati raised the Disability Pride flag yesterday. Our very own Briana Moss sits on Cincinnati’s Accessibility Board of Advisors! Celebrated each July, Disability Pride marks the anniversary of the passing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), landmark legislation that broke down barriers to inclusion in society.

By now, you may have received an annual appeal letter, text, or email from us. We hope you take a moment to read our appeal and consider making a donation to support our vital mission. Your support enables us to provide funding to ensure services for women in Cincinnati and their families that are not available to them elsewhere. It's simple to make a one-time gift or to pledge with convenient monthly payments: https://lnkd.in/eKi9ZRnD

Our commitment to supporting survivors and families remains steadfast. Yet, survivors still need your help right now. Your donations directly impact real people in our community, like Cynthia. Cynthia is a single mother of three who recently escaped her abuser. Thanks to donors like you, she and her children found safety and support at our shelter. They now have beds, food, and legal aid, and most importantly, peace of mind. Help us break the cycle of violence and support our mission to empower women. Your gift makes a tangible difference in the lives of women, girls, and people of color. Give today and help us continue building an empowered community: www.ywcacincinnati.org Want to know more about the impact of giving? Reach out to our team at donations@ywcacin.org.
