“I’ve had the pleasure of partnering with Angela on numerous clients since 2016 and can easily admit she has been one of my favorite people to work with in the staffing industry (for many reasons). Angela is innovative, dedicated, passionate, and offers a wide array of expertise within the CW industry. She is committed to excellence and is always looking to strategize with her proven suppliers on ways to enhance any CW program she is part of. Being on the supplier side having worked with well over 50+ programs in my tenure, Angela continues to stand out for her willingness to collaborate and explore mutually beneficial opportunities. She recognizes that building strong relationships with suppliers yields significant benefits, including improved quality, reduced costs, and increased innovation. I am so appreciative to have the opportunity to work with her!”

Unpopular opinion, but I tend to agree with this post. Unfortunately, the reality is that many companies tend to think culture transformation, driving accountability among managers and employees, and ensuring collaboration between leadership teams can be delegated to HR. Don't get me wrong - HR does have a key role in all of this. But the role is that of a facilitator and a thought partner. If senior leadership doesn't role model, lead from the front and prioritize time for driving culture, HR's role changes to an unpleasant tracking and policing role which is frustrating for everyone involved. We need to be enablers and not enforcers.

Here's a paid leave cost analysis tool that gives employers a detailed view into the actual cost of implementing (or improving) paid leave policies. This is the best ROI calculator I've seen during my time in B2B SaaS - it's trustworthy and fully exposes the methodology. Genuinely impressed by the impactful content and resources our Cocoon marketing team creates, special shoutout to Ryley Donohoe! #FutureOfLeave

Monday Milestone & Mission Mondays can be rough; but, they show up every seven days, so I am trying to embrace them through some positive thinking and reflection. List one Monday Milestone - something from last week (personal or professional) that you will carry into this week. And then list a Monday Mission - one thing you're going to do this week that will leave you feeling accomplished. 🏆 Monday Milestone - Put the final touches on an awesome Point of Reference informational video - I'm proud of all of it and my role in its creation. 💪 Monday Mission - Lead a kick arse customer user group this week about the evolution of customer references and how we need to embrace the change of the industry, along with tips and tricks to be successful in doing so. What's your Monday Milestone & Mission? #peoplebeforeprofessionals #marketing #customermarketing #customeradvocacy #customerreferences #referenceedge #mondays

One of the biggest lessons I learned about myself was seeing my own qualities reflected in leaders I worked for. For many years I leaned heavily on my charisma to get me in the door; the door of the company, the door of the employees’ trust, my own career growth, etc. As I progressed in my career I realized how many big time CSuite execs were also charismatic. I watched executive level, charismatic leaders repeatedly come to a meeting or discussion unprepared, and they attempted to use their charisma as a crutch. I saw myself reflected back at me in those moment. Whether it was being unprepared, uncomfortable, or out of my depth, I leaned on my own charisma instead of being vulnerable and honest. I’ve learned how to say things like, “I did not prepare enough for this today, and I’m sorry I wasted our time. I don’t want to bullshit this, can I try again with you tomorrow?” or “I’m really uncomfortable with where this is going and I’m feeling the need to convince you instead of conflict with you. Can you help me in this moment by telling me how we can healthily conflict right now?” Charisma (or the Rizz as the kids say) is an attribute that is powerful and needed. It can also be a crutch that removes authenticity from any space. I’m doing my best to keep authenticity in every room with me so my charisma can be used for encouragement and inspiration instead of masking my own struggles. May employees feel safe mirroring that authenticity and vulnerability each time they come to me. #HRCommunity #Management #Leadership #LeadershipQualities #Vulnerability

With the right partnerships we move from transactional to transformative. This is my take away from this interesting piece by Stacey Harris on the power of vendor partnerships in HR Tech [https://lnkd.in/e8uUPaJP]. It struck a chord because this idea goes beyond only HR Tech. Vendor partnerships can be a springboard for enterprise innovation. Vendors aren't just salespeople - they're battle-tested veterans with a war chest of knowledge. Innovation comes from leveraging their experience to navigate complexities, avoid pitfalls, and identify creative use cases for the technology across your organization. By partnering we gain insights into their development roadmap. This foresight allows us to plan for upcoming features and functionalities, keeping our innovation engine humming. And vendor partnerships unlock anonymized data on how similar companies leverage the technology. This industry intel empowers you to benchmark progress and identify optimization opportunities. The challenge? Finding the right vendor. But, wow, this "dream team" approach would unlock innovation at an unprecedented scale. Look out world 💪 #VendorPartnerships #HRTech #FutureofWork #EnterpriseInnovation #Partnerships

Steven Jobs once said that you’ve got to start with the customer experience (paraphrased). Hey, guess what executives all those people working hard at your company, they are also your customers!! Some executives will get it and the others will need to install a revolving door to accommodate the coming and going of talented people. You can ignore the data and try to force your opinions or you can be smart. One more thing, the salaries you pay, those are INVESTMENTS NOT EXPENSES!!! "FlexJobs found that nearly 75% of employees under 27 say that workplace flexibility is the number one employee benefit they seek." "Today, young workers have bold opinions and global aspirations. What’s more, they are sharing these ideas on social media and are therefore impacting workplaces around the world." "These workers are actively seeking employers who invest in training and development programs in the form of mentorship, workshops, skill enhancement and opportunities to work with colleagues in different countries." #peoplefirstculture #genglobal #leadership

✨This past week I took the opportunity to attend Workhuman’s Annual HR Conference in Austin with Meghan Nelson. I loved listening, connecting and digesting all things HR + AI. And let’s be honest, seeing Brené Brown IRL. In case it’s helpful, here’s some highlights: 👉 Communication is not the same as connection. We often fall victim to the less talked about AI= Artificial Intimacy. Don’t confuse having “x” number of comments, likes, etc. with having actual connections with others. Example: I have 100 followers, but no one to feed my dog while I’m on vacation. Real connection is hard and messy. 💡Being a leader is seeking those that posses humility, grounded confidence, curiosity and not just critical thinking, but anticipatory thinking to come alongside you. ❌ The “knowers” in this new age will become irrelevant. 😱Don’t be scared of AI, and you don’t have to learn Phyton to understand it. It only takes a person knowing 30% of a language to truly understand it. Learn the acronyms, and big concepts. Don’t worry too much about all the nuances. ⏸️ There is a space between stimulus and response. It’s choice. Don’t be so quick to react in a world that tells us everything must be instantaneous. 🍾 Successful HR leaders will be those that possess the: skillset+mindset+toolset. The toolset is what will help you apply the earlier two. ❤️Resliance is a chance to wake up better, not bitter.

What are some of the best methods you've used to identify leadership potential in folks without formal management experience? "Methods" could mean a personality/skills assessment, job application process, interview questions, or anything else that comes to mind. Thank you for your help!

During yesterday's company-wide town hall, I had the absolute pleasure of introducing our HE Culture Memo, which has been a labor of love for quite some time! We’ve drawn inspiration from many successful companies but felt compelled to put pen to paper on what makes us truly unique. This memo serves as a guide not just to our internal team but also as a statement to everyone about who we are, how we work, and what we stand for. In addition to our DNA, our Culture Memo features five key principles: Play By Our Own Rules: Our success is as unique as our culture. We can’t maintain either if we adopt the norms of other organizations. High Performance: The right people are our best asset. We relentlessly pursue excellence and results. Bold Communication: Strong, honest communication cuts through the noise and drives progress. Embrace Change: Change is a part of innovation. We embrace data-driven change in support of our ongoing commitment to get better. Good People: We don’t have room for big egos. Respect is not optional. Our culture isn’t just about fitting in - it’s about standing out. It’s about challenging the status quo, pushing boundaries, and daring to be different. It’s what sets us apart and drives our success. We’re not for everyone...but we might be for you! Check out our Culture Memo and see what it means to be part of the Hotel Engine Team:

Three years into a fully remote role, I've discovered new ways to combat zoom fatigue while still enjoying what I do. Incorporating breaks and opting for good old-fashioned phone calls for 1:1 meetings has been a refreshing change. Sometimes, a walk and talk session can make all the difference. Check out this article for more insights on combating zoom fatigue: https://lnkd.in/ebuPztC4

Several years ago, a mentor advised me that I was spending too much time 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 and not enough on the work. 🤔 At the time, I didn't fully grasp what that meant. It’s only recently, since I began leading a team where I lack the technical skills to be hands-on that I've come to see the profound wisdom in those words. As a Director of Customer Support, stepping back from the granular details has shifted my focus to where I can deliver the most value—on the work. - This means dedicating my efforts to building robust relationships and communication channels across the company, amplifying the "voice of the customer" that we in Customer Support understand deeply. - It means crafting a clear future vision for our team and striving to stay ahead of the competition. - It involves looking holistically at team engagement rather than being drawn into individual situations and reacting on the spot. 🌟 Why am I sharing this? Moving outside your area of subject matter expertise can be daunting, but it’s also a powerful opportunity to stretch and grow your leadership skills. It's about what you bring to the table as a leader. This environment has not only allowed me to grow but also to witness the remarkable capabilities of a team empowered to lead their own work. 🚀 Stepping out of your comfort zone is scary, but the growth you experience can transform your approach to leadership. It’s a journey well worth embarking on. #leadership #customerexperience #teammanagement #professionalgrowth
