About us:

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Redlands-Riverside provides after-school programming for youth throughout the Inland Empire. We are looking for passionate and engaging leaders to work with youth at schools and clubs throughout the area!

Mission: To enable all young people, especially those who need us the most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.

TITLE: Youth Development Specialist (non-exempt)

LOCATION: Riverside

HOURS: Monday through Friday, 2pm-6pm. For employment consideration, candidates must be available to work at least 2 days per week.

PRIMARY FUNCTION: After School Youth Leaders work with an assigned group of students at an elementary school within the Riverside Unified School District. Our staff-to-student ratios are contingent upon CDC, State, and Federal Guidelines and are currently 1 to 20.

Our Youth Leaders make a positive impact in a child’s life every single day. Youth Leaders are role models and mentors. Together with their team, they work to foster the 5 key elements to Boys & Girls Clubs: A Safe, Positive Environment, A Sense of Belonging, Fun, Opportunities and Expectations, and Recognition.

Being an After School Youth Leader is meaningful work. Some of the key responsibilities include:

Motivate and encourage program participation with students.
Provide homework/academic support.
Provide a safe environment for students through active supervision, setting clear expectations and maintaining clean program areas.
Create an engaging, positive, and fun environment for students.
Never leaving students unsupervised; implement and follow School behavioral guidelines.
Provide guidance, affirm positive behavior and act as a role model and mentor to youth.
