Not doom-and-gloom but something to be thinking about: "CPA-exam entrants declined by one-third from 2016 to 2021—and 75% of professional accountants have reached retirement age." From a CPA license perspective, I got in under the wire in Minnesota, graduating just before the 150-hour rule went into effect here. Would this rule have changed whether I'd pursued the license? (and public accounting at all?) Hard to know 20+ years later but it certainly doesn't help the profession to put up additional barriers to entry in the face of declining graduation numbers https://lnkd.in/gbvfyZhU
