Start the project with discovery and requirements gathering and utilize the document during the lifecycle of the project. If you keep adding to the documentation as you go you'll have a finished document by the end of the project. This is a lot better than not documenting anything until the end and having to spread a ton of time on it before moving on to another project. Which often means the documentation never gets done.

Ensure you analyze the current state, team requirements, and the business objectives of investing in the new platform. Document all of this, share with leadership and the teams, and make sure the org is aligned on the what/why/how and overall business value out of the project.

To help reduce errors utilize a "swiss-cheese" QA model where your team layers on different QA steps into the process. For example for a large automation deployment you should run: build testing, QA checklist, sandbox review / UAT, final QA, post launch monitoring.

Run enablement sessions focused on marketing analytics/measurement with different teams to showcase what can and can't be tracked when it comes to marketing measurement. Explain why it's often the difficult to track marketing activities that should be experimented with as they are typically the best brand building programs that resonate with how buyers educate themselves today. Try to educate the team about the trap that many marketers fall into where they only work on marketing programs that are easy to track attribution and how this limits experimentations and limits results.
