You're a manager with a new hire struggling to adapt. How can you help them adjust to the company culture?
First, have you taken the time to get to know them? I find that spending some with that employee, understanding where they came from, what worked for them in their last role/company, what helped them succeed. Second, provide context on the company culture, what has worked for you as an employee, create some shared experiences. Third, determine where they are struggling and how you can help. I also find setting up desk-sides with other leaders and peers is very helpful as new employees assimilate to the culture.

Our comprehensive approach to whole girl development equips girls to navigate gender, economic, and social barriers and grow up healthy, educated, and independent. These positive outcomes are achieved through three core elements: people - trained staff and volunteers who build lasting, mentoring relationships; environment - girls-only, physically and emotionally safe, where there is a sisterhood of support, high expectations, and mutual respect; and programming - research-based, hands-on and minds-on, age-appropriate, meeting the needs of today’s girls. Informed by girls and their families, we also advocate for legislation and policies to increase opportunities for all girls.
