Attention Government Contractors! Class Deviation 2024-O0011 has been enacted under section 843 of the National Defense Authorization Act of Fiscal Year 2024, providing temporary special acquisition authorities to enhance rapid contracting responses for combatant commanders. Whether it's for humanitarian missions, peacekeeping operations, or other national security interests, these new guidelines will expedite contracting processes in crucial situations both in the U.S. and abroad. This class deviation aims to support operations that are time-sensitive and crucial, ensuring that combatant commanders can secure necessary resources swiftly and effectively. This includes allowing contracting officers to treat acquisitions of supplies or services made pursuant to this deviation as acquisitions of commercial products or commercial services. Effective immediately, this authority extends until September 30, 2028, unless rescinded earlier. U.S. Central Command personnel reestablish temporary pier in Gaza to deliver humanitarian assistance TAMPA, Fla. – At approximately 8:52 a.m. (Gaza time) June 19, United States Central Command (U.S. CENTCOM) personnel supporting the mission to deliver much-needed humanitarian aid to Palestinian civilians, re-anchored the temporary pier to the beach in Gaza. The temporary pier had been relocated to avoid forecasted high seas and to ensure the structural integrity of the pier and safety of our service members. At no time during this event did U.S. troops enter Gaza. Trucks carrying humanitarian assistance across the temporary pier began delivery again today, June 20, and approximately 656 metric tons (1.4 million pounds) of aid were delivered to the beach in Gaza. This is the largest single day delivery of aid to date. To date, over 4,160 metric tons (9.1 million pounds) of humanitarian aid have been delivered from the pier to the marshaling area where they can be collected by humanitarian organizations for onward delivery. https://ow.ly/w0Gv50SmVcl

Soldiers will not have the ability to submit FY24 CA requests through ArmyIgnitED for start dates from 14-30 Sep. - Soldiers must submit CA requests through ArmyIgnitED at least 45 days prior to the start date of the course or exam. Guidance for FY 25 CA requests: - Soldiers may submit CA requests through ArmyIgnitED beginning 17 September 2024 for courses or exams that start on or after 1 November 2024 (not to exceed 90 days from submission). Appreciate the great collaboration between PEO IEW&S , Army Futures Command (ACM-IS), Mass Virtual and the ISR Task Force to discuss virtualized training options that will enhance human performance in an affordable and scalable way. The Intelligence enterprise is faced with a unique challenge in support of the US Army. We employ low density systems, we maintain them with low density military specialties, and we are expected to integrate cutting edge technology faster than our institutional training processes can keep pace. So how do we conduct relevant training quickly, effectively and affordably in the 21st century? We virtualize the training. Yesterday I asked the team to get a little uncomfortable and find a way to demonstrate this capability during our flagship intelligence experiment in September. I want our senior leaders to immerse themselves in a virtual world to see how a 35-series Soldier will interact with component-level parts without ever touching the system. Imagine the possibilities we create if we can certify our back-shop support without ever pulling capital assets out of the fight.

June 9 USCENTCOM Conducts Humanitarian Airdrop into Gaza TAMPA, Fla. – U.S. Central Command conducted a humanitarian assistance airdrop into Northern Gaza on June 9, 2024, to provide essential relief to civilians in Gaza affected by the ongoing conflict. The joint operation included one U.S. Air Force C-130 aircraft. The U.S. C-130 dropped more than 10 metric tons of Meals Ready to Eat (MREs), providing life-saving humanitarian assistance in Northern Gaza. To date the U.S. has airdropped more than 1,050 metric tons of humanitarian assistance in addition to the assistance delivered by the Joint Logistics Over the Sea (JLOTS) corridor. The DoD humanitarian airdrops contribute to ongoing U.S. and partner-nation government efforts to alleviate human suffering. These airdrops are part of a sustained effort, and we continue to plan follow-on aerial deliveries. https://ow.ly/GYHr50ScHPA

How can we better integrate Veterans with our youth as a key strategy in addressing military recruitment challenges? Story telling is an under-appreciated tactic. I know that, and on behalf of most serving members, it is very awkward. However, it's high-impact as it connects us as humans, brings individuals together and is the way we have shared wisdom for thousands of years. The 2021 Census found more than half a million Australians (581,139) have served, or are currently serving, in the ADF. There are 84,865 current serving members and 496,276 former serving members. If we apply the six-handshake rule, everyone in the world is connected to the military. Through storytelling, we can improve the lives of our Veterans by making them feel valued, and also showcase the fulfilling opportunities available in the military. Let's collaborate on innovative ways to harness veterans' expertise to attract and cultivate the next generation of service members. April 18 USCENTCOM Conducts Humanitarian Air Drop into Gaza U.S. Central Command conducted an air drop of humanitarian assistance into Northern Gaza on April 18, 2024, at 1:09 p.m. (Gaza time) to provide essential relief to civilians affected by the ongoing conflict. The joint operation included four C-130 U.S. Air Force aircraft, and U.S. Army Soldiers specialized in aerial delivery of U.S. humanitarian assistance supplies. The U.S. C-130s dropped approximately 50, 600 U.S. meal equivalents into Northern Gaza, an area of great need, allowing for civilian access to the critical aid. To date, the U.S. has dropped 946 tons of humanitarian assistance. During today's mission, approximately 25 bundles landed in the sea. USCENTCOM does not assess civilian harm or damage to infrastructure at this time but continue to monitor the situation. The DoD humanitarian airdrops contribute to ongoing U.S. and partner-nation government efforts to alleviate human suffering. These airdrops are part of a sustained effort, and we continue to plan follow-on aerial deliveries.

We just wrapped up an insightful #webinar on the pressing challenges of proliferation financing today. The panel, featuring experts from K2 Integrity, the U.S. Department of State, and the former United Nations Panel of Experts on DPRK, shed light on the Russian Federation's support for weapons development in North Korea and Iran, along with its obstruction of UN sanctions. 3 key takeaways include: 🌍 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗲: The discussion highlighted the Russian Federation's support for weapons of mass destruction in North Korea and Iran, including launching missiles at European cities. The implications for financial institutions and the private sector were emphasized. 💪 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴: The webinar focused on the importance of capacity building programs to enhance the understanding of proliferation finance risks, build law enforcement capacity, and strengthen the private sector's ability to identify and report suspicious transactions and counterparties. 🤝 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴: The importance of international collaboration, risk-based monitoring, and communication between financial institutions was stressed.
