    Established in 2004 by local business and civic leaders, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Foundation works to strengthen Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department services and to promote public safety in Charlotte, North Carolina. An independent, non-profit 501c3 organization, we dedicate our efforts to assuring safer neighborhoods and highly skilled and equipped police through better technology, education, and programming. With tax-deductible donations, we provide the tools and training needed for a cutting-edge police force. To protect the privacy of our citizens, we don’t use phone solicitations or telemarketers. Instead, we coordinate events that not only raise much-needed police department funds but bring our community together.

    As a charitable 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, CRC relies on public financial support to fulfill our mission goals that include environmental education, the rehabilitation of injured and orphaned raptors, and environmental stewardship. Carolina Raptor Center is currently celebrating the 40th year since the first patient, a Broad-winged Hawk, was brought to Dr. Dick Brown in the basement of the biology building at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

    Charlotte Trolley, Inc. is a private, non-profit, volunteer-driven organization dedicated to returning vintage streetcar operations to the streets of Charlotte. The organization and staff of one full-time and two part-time employees are supported by corporate and private donations. The temporary home of the trolley is an old cotton mill. A possible future home is along the trolley line and was the streetcar barn used by the original system until streetcars were retired in 1938.
