“Having Jake as a mentor when I joined the Design & Training team has had a lasting impact on my job performance and satisfaction. Jake has the ability to welcome people, integrate them and bring out their best. During my onboarding Jake both taught me current processes while immediately asking for ideas in how to make them better - a trait in a senior peer that I have not experienced this way before. During the many passionate debates on our team Jake found ways to both hear and include every voice as well as ground the conversation eventually towards the necessary next steps. Jake has also showed me by leading by example how to navigate difficult conversation with partners (SMEs) while always keeping the learner in mind. Jake brought such a variety of instructional design, communication & intercultural skills to our teams, it is hard to imagine him being replaced. I highly recommend having Jake on any instructional design team as I am sure his natural leadership will steer any group of learning and development professionals towards actual impactful learning.
